Vietnam Buddhist sangha chapter established in Nghe An’s Nam Dan district

The provincial authorities of Nghe An has approved the establishment of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Chapter in the province’s Nam Dan district by a decision issued on May 18.

Upon the approval of the Nghe An provincial government, the VBS chapter in Nam Dan held its first general meeting on May 20 at Dai Tue Pagoda with the participation of large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries and followers.

The meeting elected four members to the executive board of the VBS chapter in the district and chose Vinh Phuc pagoda located in Nam Dan’s Nam Xuan commune as headquarters of the VBS chapter.

During the general meeting the VBS chaper in Nghe An presented certificates of merit to five pagodas for their contribution to the Buddhist development in Nam Dan district.
