Vietnam Bishops Conference holds priesthood training

The Bishops’ Commission for Priests and Postulants under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam held a priesthood training from July 3 - 17 at Don Bosco Retreat Centre of Da Lat Diocese .

Overview of the training

Attending the event held with the theme “The Evangelization and New Evangelization in the context of Vietnamese society with priest training” were representatives from 26 dioceses of the Vietnam Catholic Church, Bishop President of the Committee on Evangelization Anphonse Nguyễn Hữu Long and over 100 nominatees  from   major seminaries,  congregations across the country.

Distinguished guests at the event included Mr Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA).

Representatives of  the Missionaries of Paris, Vatican’ Ministry evangelization of Peoples, Divine Word Institute of Mission Studies of Philippines, professors from Catholic Institute of Paris, Suwon Major Seminary, the Missionaries of Paris in Singapore also attended and delivered presentations on  Evangelization at the training.

Speaking at the training course, Mr Dương Ngọc Tấn spoke highly of religious training at major seminaries and congregations in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Tấn, the Viet Nam Catholic Church currently has one Cathlic Institute and seven  major seminaries.
