The Baha’i Community of Vietnam held its 11th national congress in Da Nang city on May 26-27.
Attending the event were a large number of delegates representing followers of Baha’i faith throughout the country.
Distinguished guests at the event included Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng and representatives of the municipal authorities.
Addressing the event, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng stated that freedom of belief and religion has always been respected and guaranteed for people in the country, thanks to state policies and laws. He also expressed hope that followers of Baha’i faith would well observe the state laws and set good examples in the community life.
After the congress, the Baha’i community inaugurated Baha’i Centre in Da Nang city on May 28. This is the first Baha’i place constructed in the country.
The Baha’i Community of Vietnam was granted state recognition in July 2008.

Since then, the state authorities at all levels have created favorable conditions for members of the Baha’i Community of Vietnam to practice their faith.
