Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Vice President of the Executive Council of the VBS; Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Deputy General Secretary cum Chief of Office I of the VBS, abbot of Phat Tich pagoda, authorities from Tien Du district (Bac Ninh province) and Buddhists welcomed the delegation. Mrs. Preeti Saran - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam also joined the welcoming reception.

Mrs Vice president expressed her joy that India organized a Buddhist cultural festival in Vietnam, right at the Phat Tich pagoda. She also stated that this was a chance to learn customs, traditions and culture of India for Vietnamese people thus contributing to strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples and consolidate close friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and India.
