VFF in Tien Giang holds conference on legal provisions of elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils for key religious

A conference on law provisions of the elections of deputies to the 15th Legislature and all-level People’s Councils of the 2021-2026 tenure for key followers of religions in the southern province of Tien Giang took place on April 13.

Present at the conference included Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Tien Giang Huỳnh Văn Hải, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê, and 90 participants who are dignitaries of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Caodaism, Hoa Hao Buddhism, Minh Su Faith, Pure-land Buddhism and Tu An Hieu Nghia (Four Debts of Gratitude) Faith in the locality.

During the one-day event, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and concerning agencies in Tien Giang highlighted key contents of the Law on elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils, including roles and responsibilities of deputies of the National Assembly and People’s Councils, rights and responsibilities of voters, the settlement of complaints and denunciations by voters regarding the nominated, election campaigning, etc.

As reported, the conference, with its second phase for another 90 religious participants in the province also taking place on April 14, aims to enhance understanding of law provisions on elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils amongst religious dignitaries, contributing to together with local authorities encouraging religious people in the locality to fulfill civic rights and duties towards the elections of deputies to the 15th Legislature and all-level People’s Councils of the 2021-2026 tenure slated for May 23 this year.
