VBS Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City extends Christmas greetings to Catholic archdiocese

A delegation from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City paid a visit on December 21 to the office of Ho Chi Minh City archdiocese, ahead of Christmas 2020.
The VBS delegation led by Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tâm, Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City was welcomed by Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng of the archdiocese.
During the visit, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tâm conveyed Christmas greetings from Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng, Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, to Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng and all dignitaries and parishioners in the archdiocese.
Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tâm also took the chance to thank Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng for his congratulation on Vesak Day and expressed hope that the cordial relation between the two religious organizations would always be maintained and promoted.
Speaking to Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tâm, Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng expressed his delight at results of social charity works made by the two religions over the past times, and noted Pope Francis's message "You are all brothers and sisters" to emphasize that religion is for the service of humanity.
Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng thanked the VBS delegation’s visit and extended best wishes to all Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists ahead of New Year 2021.
