The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Quang Binh province held on May 31 a meeting to review the Buddha’s Birthday activities and pointed out the working plan on the summer retreat course 2019 (B.E. 2563) in the province.
The event taking place at Thanh Long pagoda saw the presence of Member of the provincial VBS Discernment Committee Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dung, Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Hòa, Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee and members of the VBS Executive Committee and representatives from eight VBS Executive Boards in the districts.
Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Trần Quang Minh and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Committee Nguyễn Quang Minh attended the event.
During the meeting, Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Hòa informed results of the 16th UN Day of Vesak hosting by VBS and reviewed the Buddha’s Birthday 2019 activities in the province.
Participating Buddhists also discussed and approved the working plan on the summer retreat course 2019 in the province. Accordingly, the summer retreat course 2019 will be held from June 16 to September 12 at six pagodas of Thanh Long, Nguyet Quang, Bao An, Quan Am, Tay Long and Phuc Lam.
