The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in Ninh Binh was presented with the Third-Class Labor Medal from the State President at a solemn ceremony held on September 30.
Present at the ceremony held in Dong Dac Pagoda located in the province’s Kim Son district were Most Venerable Executive Member of the VBS’s Discernment Council Thích Thanh Đàm, Most Venerable Standing-Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Most Venerable Vice President of the Buddhist Executive Council Thích Gia Quang, Senior Venerable Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS Chapter in Ninh Binh Thích Thọ Lạc, and large numbers of monks, nuns and Buddhist followers.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thanh Hà, Secretary of Ninh Binh’s Party Committee Nguyễn Thị Thanh, and representatives of concerning central agencies and local authorities.
During the ceremony Secretary Nguyễn Thị Thanh handed over the labor medal to Ninh Binh provincial VBS’s executive committee, as well as Great-Unity medals to two individuals for outstanding contributions to the national unity bloc over the past years, thus contributing to the national construction and defense.

Later in the day, delegates attending the ceremony witnessed the ribbon-cutting ceremony formally inaugurating a building for learning and studying Buddhist teachings completed within Dong Dac pagoda, called Kim Lien Original House. The building was part of a project with nine functioning facilities to be constructed in the pagoda and its construction was started in late 2013.
