The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Ha Tinh province solemnly held an opening ceremony for the summer retreat course 2017-B.E. 2561 at Thanh Luong pagoda in the province’s Nghi Xuan district on June 11.
Attending the ceremony included Most Venerable President of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Chapter in Ha Tinh province Thích Bảo Nghiêm, abbots of pagodas in the province and representatives from the local authorities.
According to the organizing board, the Buddhist summer retreat course this year is taking place from June 10 to September 6 with a total of 37 monks from 13 districts in the province.
