The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in An Giang held a grand Buddhist ordination conference from July 31 to August 2 in Vien Quang Pagoda.
The opening ceremony of the event held on July 31 saw the participation of Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Standing Vice President of the VBS Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS central committee on monk affairs, representatives of local authorities, nominated Buddhist monks, nuns and followers, and large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the province.

During the ordination conference, 118 monks, nuns and Buddhists were promoted as new Bhikkhus, Bhikkhunis, novice monks, novice nuns.
