The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council sent on September 13 a dispatch to the central function committees and the provincial-level VBS executive committees asking for a practical response to the “Telecommunications services and computers for children” program launched by the Prime Minister.

In the dispatch signed by Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the VBS’s central executive council called on Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers, Buddhist pagodas and other places to donate cash, laptops or smartphones for helping millions of disadvantaged children in online learning during the social distancing period, and deliver these learning equipment to disadvantaged children through the department of education and training in provinces and central-run cities or the central VBS.
