Tu An Hieu Nghia sect convenes second Congress

Tu An Hieu Nghia (Four debts of gratitude) sect convened their second Congress for the 2015-2020 tenure at Tam Buu temple in An Giang province on July 24.

The congress gathered 120 delegates representing over 78,000 followers of the Four debts of gratitude sect in the whole country.

Joining the congress included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng, Vice Chairman of the An Giang provincial Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Thanh Dân, representatives from local authorities and religious organizations (Hoa Hao Buddhism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Islamic, Caodai sect in the An Giang province).

 At the congress, delegates discussed and approved the report of the first term activities (2010 - 2015), the working plan for the second term (2015 -2020), the revised Charter; selection of chief of 22 branches and election of the representative committee for 2015-2020 tenure led by Nguyễn Hữu Nghị.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng acknowledged practical contributions by the Church and followers in the first term. He also expressed his hope that the new Representative Committee would continue to promote its fine traditions, stay closely attached to and accompany with the nation.

On this occasion, An Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs presented a certificate of merit of Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee to the sect and six assisting committees for their contributions in the first term.
