Tien Giang provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee solemnly held an opening ceremony for the summer retreat course 2016 - B.E. 2560 on May 22 at Hue Dang lecture hall of Vinh Trang Pagoda.
Attending opening ceremony were Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Huệ Minh, representatives from the VBS Executive Board in the province’s 11 districts and over 300 monks and nuns in the locality.
Local guests at the ceremony included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê.
According to the local Buddhist plan, the summer retreat 2016 would be held in four places with total of 304 participants. During the summer retreat, the organization board also will invite representatives from the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Committee for Religious Affairs and the Commission for Mass Mobilization to disseminate state laws on religion and national unity.
