Attending the meeting were about 50 monks and nuns from the provincial VBS Executive Committee and representatives from the VBS Executive Board of the province’s ten districts.

Most Venerable Thích Huệ Minh, who is also Member of the VBS Central Executive Council, directed local Buddhist organizations to solemnly and economically organize the Buddha’s birthday festival and summer retreat course 2015 in lines with guidelines of the Central VBS Council, and called on local Buddhist dignitaries and establishments to actively engage in social and humanitarian activities as part of programs to celebrate the Buddha’s festival. He also stated a plan to set up the Buddhist summer course 2015 in the province at four different places (two places for monks, and the other two for nuns).

The meeting also heard a report of religious and social activities conducted by local Buddhists in March, including charities worth over seven billion VND.
