On May 16, 2014, at the hall of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Mr. Trần Thanh Đức, Vice – Chairman of Tien Giang province People’s Committee received delegates of the General Congress of Hòa Hảo Buddhism.
At the meeting, Mr. Trần Thanh Đức highly appreciated the contributions of Tien Giang’s Hòa Hảo Buddhism for the term 2009 - 2014 in carrying outcharitable activities; building the cultural life in the residential areas and abiding by laws.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Võ Văn Thượng, Head of Representative Board of Hòa Hảo Buddhism in Tien Giang province, Head of Tien Giang’s delegation thanked the Tien Giang People’s Committee and the local authorities for creating favorable conditions for religious activities of Hòa Hảo Buddhism in the locality.
On this occasion, the Tien Giang People’s Committee awarded Mr. Võ Văn Thượng, Head of the provincial Representative Board of Hòa Hảo Buddhism a certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in religious activities, law compliance and humanitarian activities… in the term 2009 – 2014.
