Hung Hoa temple in Tien Giang province’s Chau Thanh district under the Pure Land Buddhist Association held a meeting on January 10 to review religious activities in 2015.
Attending the meeting were Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Pure Land Buddhist Association’s Executive Committee Trần Công Chức and about 60 local followers.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and local authorities’ representatives.
According to the meeting report, during the year, Hung Hoa temple and followers have recorded many practical achievements, including organization of seven meetings on religious teachings for about 145 followers; 30 followers attending training courses, 10 people converted to the religion, inauguration of the main worshipping hall of Hung Hoa temple and its traditional medical clinic. The temple also spent over VND 700 million on charities including supports and fund raising to the poor and provision of health care and free medical examination.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Trần Công Chức praised Hung Hoa temple for practical contributions and encouraged herbalists, medical trainers and followers to proactively join in social and charitable activities in the locality.
