Tien Giang province: A ceremony was held to proclaim the establishment of Phuoc Bao Buddhist worship in Xuan Dong commune, Cho Gao district, Tien Giang

On August 23rd, 2014, at Tan Thuan village, Xuan Dong commune, Cho Gao district, Venerable Thích Thiện Hải, Chairman of the Buddhist Executive Board in Cho Gao district chaired a ceremony to announce the decision to establish Phuoc Bao Buddhist worship place. Attending the ceremony were monks and nuns in the district, neighboring districts and local Buddhists.

Attending the ceremony were representatives from local authorities Mrs. Bùi Thị Mai, Vice Chairman of provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Tiếp, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cho Gao district and local officials of Xa Dong commune.

Meeting religious need in Xuan Dong commune, local authorities approved for the Executive Board of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) to establish Phuoc Bao Buddhist worship place on an area of 400m2 in Tan Thuan village.

At the ceremony, a Buddhist representative on behalf of Xuan Dong commune’ Buddhists expressed their thanks to authorities for creating favorable conditions for people in remote areas and stated that they will practice the religion under the guidance of the VBS, organize religious activities in accordance with the laws.

The ceremony took place in solemn and cheerful atmosphere.
