Tiền Giang: ceremony held to commemorate the passing away of the late Most Venerable Thích Pháp Lạc

On May 18th, 2014, the solemn ceremony for 13rd anniversary of the passing away of the late Most Venerable Thích Pháp Lạc (2001-2014) was held at Pháp Bảo Pagoda in Tiền Giang province.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Huệ Tâm – Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), 100 monks and nuns, more than 400 Buddhist believers.
Representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and Mỹ Tho’ departments and agencies also attended the anniversary.
The late Most Venerable Thích Pháp Lạc was former Deputy Patriarch of the Theravada Buddhist Sangha, Member of the Discernment Council of VBS, Abbot of Pháp Bảo Pagoda under the Theravada Buddhist sect.
During his life, Most Venerable actively participated in social activities, guided Buddhist followers in practicing Theravada Buddhist tradition, and made important contributions in building Buddhist solidarity in Tiền Giang province.
With these contributions, Most Venerable has been granted awards and certificates of merit by VBS and State authorities.
