Hanoi authorities has approved for the Hanoi Tempe of Literature (Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam) to upgrade its famous pond, Thien Quang Well, according to head of the temple’s center for cultural and scientific activities Lê Xuân Kiêu
It’s reported that, in late March, part of the well’s surrounding fence wall, about 10m, and the area opposite the Constellation of Literature Pavilion (Khuê Văn Các) werer appeared to have splits that could collapse at any time.
To ensure safety for visitors to the literature temple, as well as preserve scenic and architectural values of this special national relic, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi has proposed an immediate renovation of Thien Quang Well.
Together with the Constellation of Literature Pavilion (Khuê Văn Các), Thien Quang Well forms an important part of the temple relic complex that was built on an area of approximately 900m2./.
