The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha delegation visits Son Ca island

On June 23, 2014 the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held a ceremony to install the Buddha statute presented by PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng at Linh Son pagoda (Son Ca island under Truong Sa islands).

At the ceremony, Venerable Thích Giác Hiệp, member of the Executive Council, leader of the delegation informed that the VBS installed 3 Buddha statutes and inaugurated pagodas in Nam Yet, Son Ca, Phan Vinh islands and prayed for peace in the East Sea at Truong Sa island; visited and encouraged people and military force who are working and living in islands under Truong Sa islands. The VBS’s activities in Truong Sa island aimed at strengthening the great national unity bloc and promoting the propagation about the Vietnam’s sovereignty, especially Truong Sa and Hoang Sa islands’ sovereignty.

After the ceremony, the VBS delegation presented practical gifts to encourage morale of soldiers and officers in the island. Mr. Nguyễn Bá Ngọc, Deputy Commander of Zone 4 of Vietnam Navy, Mr. Đỗ Thế Tuyến, Head of Son Ca island and hundreds of soldiers welcomed the delegation
