Bishop Nguyễn Chí Linh of Thanh Hoa diocese chaired the inauguration and consecration ceremony of Thai Yen church in Ba Lang Deanery on Sept. 2nd.
Attending the event were priests and a large number of Catholic followers inside and outside the diocese.
The construction of Thai Yen Catholic church was started in 2012 and completed in 2014. It has been built with 45m long, 18m wide; its main bell tower is 53 m in height
Thai Yen parish under Ba Lang Deanery situated at Cong Chinh commune of Nong Cong district. It was established in 1896, consists of Dong Yen and Kien An parishes. The old church was built by priests of Paris Foreign Mission Society (MEP) in the early of the 20th century. Currently, the parish is home to about 4,700 Catholics with nine Catholic communes.
