On the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year, Thai Nguyen provincial authorities held a meeting with religious dignitaries on February 6.
Attending the meeting were Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Đặng Viết Thuần, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affair Dương Ngọc Tấn, representatives of provincial People's Council, People's Committee and dignitaries and deacons from 03 religious organizations of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism in the locality.
At the meeting, Mr. Đặng Viết Thuần shared about the socio-economic achievements 2014 and acknowledged important contributions of religious followers to the local socio-economic development, especially the new rural reconstruction movement.
Speaking at this event, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn spoke highly of the organization of this meeting and regarded it as a great opportunities for dialogue and exchange, contributing to foster understanding and a close relationship between religious people and local authorities.
He also called on the religious dignitaries to continue supporting the implementation of patriotic movements launched by the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and encourage religious followers to live for “better religious and secular life”.
