Tay Ninh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee held a meeting to review its performance in 2015 and approve working programs for 2016 at its office in Tay Ninh city on Jan. 26.
Attending the meeting were members of the central Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Thông Nghiêm, Most Venerable Standing Vice Chairman Thích Niệm Thới, monks, nuns and Buddhists in the locality.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh provincial Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Giang Ngọc Trực, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đặng Minh Lũy and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Võ Thành Công.
It’s reported that, in 2015, Buddhist dignitaries and followers in Tay Ninh province actively participated in social programs with the total contribution of nearly 30 VND billion in charities.
On this occasion, Chairman Võ Thành Công praised practical contributions by Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the locality. Vice Chairman Giang Ngọc Trực presents a certificate of merit to Venerable Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Minh Nhân and Venerable Deputy Head of the Buddhist Guidance Board Thích Thiện Nghĩa for their outstanding contributions in social and charitable activities in the locality.
