Tay Ninh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee solemnly held an opening ceremony for the summer retreat course 2015 (B.E. 2559) at Phuoc Thanh pagoda in Trang Bang district on May 30.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Thông Nghiêm, Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Niệm Thới, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee, Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the locality.
Local officials at the ceremony included Vice Chairman of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Thanh Pha, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyễn Thị Minh Lý, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Võ Thành Công.
According to the organization board, the three-month summer retreat course will take place in Phuoc Thanh pagoda in An Tinh commune for monks and Niet Ban pagoda in An Hoa commune for nuns.
During the ceremony, Nun Thích Nữ Diệu Nghĩa, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee made an offering of VND 50 million to the summer retreat course.
