Tay Ninh province: Bửu Long – Bau Tuong pagoda organizes the Buddhist Parents Day Festival 2014

On August 13th, a Buddhist Parents Day Festival 2014(B.E 2558) ceremony was solemnly held at Bửu Long- Bau Tuong pagoda- a provincial historical and cultural relic in Ben Cau dist, Tay Ninh province.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Pha, Vice Chairman of provincial Party Committee’s Board for Mass Mobilization; Mr. Võ Thành Công, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh’s Committee for Religious Affairs; and representatives from local authorities.

Representatives from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) at the ceremony include Most Venerable Thích Niệm Thới, Member of the Executive Council of VBS, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh’s VBS Executive Board; and Buddhist dignitaries and followers inside and outside the province.

Venerable Thích Nghiêm Bình, Member of the provincial Executive Board in charge of cultural affairs solemnly held a ceremony with distinctive rituals and especially a moving presentation of roses that touched many delegates, dignitaries and followers.

On behalf of leaders of the provincial Party Committee’s Board for Mass Mobilization, Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Pha said the Buddhist Parents Day was an opportunity to honor traditional, cultural and spiritual values of Buddhism that closely linked to the traditional culture of Vietnam. He also recorded and appreciated contributions in charitable activities of Bửu Long pagoda- Bau Tuong’s Buddhists over the past time. On the occasion of the ceremony, representatives from local authorities presented gifts and flowers to the Buddhist Parents Day ceremony.
