A delegation of Tay Ninh province visited on October 24 to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in the province for paying tribute to Late Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ, Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).
Accompanying the delegation included Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department in the province Trần Minh Nay, Chairman of the provincial Religion – Ethnicity Committee Võ Thành Công, and Colonel Deputy Commissar of the provincial Military Command Trần Quốc Hưng.
Welcoming the provincial delegation included Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Niệm Thới.
During the visit, the provincial delegation and the VBS’s executive committee offered incense to Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ, as well as paid homage to the late VBS patriarch for his contributions to the Buddhist dharma and the nation.
Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ passed away a day prior at the age of 105 in Vien Minh (Rang) Pagoda in Hanoi’s Phu Xuyen district.
