The Government Committee for Religious Affairs held on July 24 a seminar themed “Supporting measures for belief & religious practices contributing to preservation and promotion of national culture for overseas Vietnamese communities”
The seminar chaired by Dr. Deputy Director of the Homeland Security Department under the Ministry of Public Security Bùi Thanh Hà saw the presence of Prof. Đỗ Quang Hưng from the Vietnam National University, representatives of GCRA’s departments, and several scholars and experts.

The seminar discussion focused on updated information of belief and religious practices in overseas Vietnamese communities and its role in preserving and promoting national and cultural identities, the relation between overseas Vietnamese and domestic religious organizations, and supports of state agencies for religious dignitaries who are overseas Vietnamese.

The seminar also drew comments on state policies on belief and religion for overseas Vietnamese communities, the communication and mass mobilization work toward key overseas religious followers for preservation and promotion of cultural identities, and teachings of Vietnamese language for Vietnamese overseas.
