A solemn ceremony to receive of a statue of the King-Monk Trần Nhân Tông was held at the Sung Phuc Zen Monastery on April 19 in Hanoi.
Mr. Vũ Trọng Kim, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have joint the event.
The creation of King Trần Nhân Tông statue was financed by Le Pham Fund and Fund for Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation. The statue, made of a precious stone block, is 1.50 meters high and weighs 1,000 kilograms, placed on a platform of 1.06m in height.
During the ceremony, Buddhist dignitaries and state officials recalled on the glory of King Trần Nhân Tông’s reign and his great contributions to the national building and defense, and Buddhist development in Vietnam.
