Meeting wishes of the Vietnam Catholic Church and followers for a new church, Hà Nam provincial authorities approved for the Kim Bảng parish, Hà Nam province to rebuild its church. On May 11st, 2014, the parish held a stone-laying ceremony to build its new church.
Attending the ceremony were Archbishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn; the administering priest of Phủ Lý vicariate, Peter Bùi Ngọc Tuấn, the administering priest of Kim Bảng vicariate, Peter Trần Văn Việt and 6 priests inside and outside congregation.
Kim Bảng parish covers the total area of Kim Bảng district, Hà Nam province. The church was built more than a century ago, so it has degraded and needs to be rebuilt.
