State President greets Caodai followers on founding anniversary of Caodaism

The Vietnam State President Trương Tấn Sang hosted a reception on October 13 for dignitaries and heads of Caodai Churches and organizations in Hanoi on occasion of the religion’s 90th founding anniversary.

The delegation was led by Cardinal President of the Caodai Verity Path Church Trần Đức Tăng  and Archbishop Head of the Management Committee of (Binh Duc) Vietnam Caodai Church Lê Văn Tròn.

Joining the visiting reception included Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Phạm Dũng.

Overview of the visiting reception

At the meeting, representatives of the Caodai churches and organizations informed about religious practices of Caodaism over the past years. They also informed that, thanks to favorable conditions of the Party, the State and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Caodai dignitaries and followers have actively participated in religious trainings and social activities. 

At the welcoming reception, President Trương Tấn Sang extended best wishes to dignitaries of Caodai Churches and organizations on occasion of 90th founding anniversary of Caodaism.

He also stated that over its 90 years of formation and development, Caodaism became one of major religions of Vietnam, contributing to enriching the traditional culture and fostering national unity. 

President Trương Tấn Sang also acknowledged contributions by the Caodai followers during the country’s past struggle for liberation and current nation-building process. Currently, Caodai religion with over 2.5 millions followers has increasingly played important roles during the construction and development of the country.
