Recording to a local report, the social contributions of Pure-land Buddhist Association in Ca Mau was valued at over VND 52 billion for the 2013-2018 period.
Medical charity is always a priority of the Pure-land Buddhist Association in Ca Mau which has provided health checks and traditional medicines for 1,284,590 locals, given 7,477,855 sets of medicines and offered acupuncture treatment to 474,823 patients, worth over VND 50 billion in total for the 2013-2018 tenure.
In addition, members of the association have actively participated in movements launched by the local authorities with contributions to funds for the poor and support to the disadvantaged valued at over 2.6 billion VND for the last five years.
Acknowledging social contributions of the Pure-land Buddhist Association in Ca Mau, the provincial authorities presented certificates of recommendation to several groups and individuals of the association for their outstanding achievements in social programs and movements launched in the locality for the 2018-2023 tenure.
Recording to the report, the Pure-land Buddhist Association in Ca Mau has currently more than 16,000 followers with 22 chapters – the third largest number of branches of the association in the Southwestern provinces of Viet Nam.
