Seminar on religious contributions to public order, socio-economic development in Ha Nam

A seminar themed “some features of religious activities in Ha Nam making contributions for maintaining social order and promoting socio-economic development” was held on November 30 in the province.

At the seminar

The event was organized by the provincial Department of Home Affairs and attended by nearly 30 religious dignitaries representing three religions of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism in the province.

During the seminar, the home affairs department’s representative briefed results of socio-economic development in ninth months of 2023, and highlighted practical contributions made by local religious organizations.

At the event, religious dignitaries engaged in discussion and raised comments on how to persuade religious followers to proactively contribute to public order and actively engage to social charities for poverty reduction, education promotion, taking care of the disadvantaged and prevention of superstition and deviant practices in the locality.

Ha Nam province currently has three operative religions of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism with 74 dependent religious organizations, 790 religious worshipping places, and over 290,000 followers, accounting for 34.4% the provincial population.
