Results of social charities by Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in first six months

In the first six months of 2018, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church recorded remarkable results in charitable activities. The Church contributed to over VND 156 billion to social charities including programs for building charity houses, promotion of education, etc.  

The Church’s social charity committee has encouraged the Buddhist chapters to set up charity kitchens to help students with disadvantages. Several kitchens are expanding free services such as  “free shop” “sponsoring groups for poor patients”, charity kitchens at traditional medicine clinics, etc.

The Church’s social charity committee in collaboration with the sponsoring association of poor patients in Can Tho city and Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s charitable house building groups has also organized programs for the building of charity houses, providing supports and free medicines for the poor in localities in the fourth and tenth lunar months, which coincide with the founding anniversary of the Church and the birthday anniversary of the sect’s founder.

In the last six months, the Hoa Hoa Buddhist Church will promote cooperation activities with social and religious organizations, businesses, and sponsors in order to have more resources for meeting practical needs in localities and timely responding to possible damages caused by natural disasters.

The Buddhist Church also plans to expand the scale and strength of the charitable house building groups in order to meet increasing needs in the society.

In addition, the Church will set up the education promotion division under the grassroots-level executive board as well as organize vocational trainings  to help disadvantaged students from localities.
