On June 26, 2014, the Representative Committee of the Islamic Community in Tay Ninh province held a solemn ceremony to celebrate the Ramadan festival 2014 (Islamic calendar 1435) at Darul Naim Lilmuslimin mosque with attendance of Haji, Hakin, Naep… and over 200 followers from 7 Islamic communities in the province.  

In Tay Ninh province, total number of Cham Islamic community is about 3,7000 people with 800 households practicing Islam in 7 Islamic communities. Observation of Ramadan month is prescribed by the Islamic law. Accordingly, the fasting in this holy month borne important meanings, helping Islam followers nurture themselves, uphold their spirit, perseverance and tolerance, be helpful to the poor people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trang Văn Hải, Deputy Director of provincial Home Affairs, Chairman of Tay Ninh province Committee for Religious Affairs expressed congratulation to the Islamic community and stated that the Ramadan fasting month has meanings relevant to social ethics of Vietnam. He also highly valued good results of the Cham Islamic community in Tay Ninh in the first six months of the year, especially the message issued by the Representative Committee against China’s illegal placement of oil rig HD 981 and escorting ships in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. He suggested Islam dignitaries and followers to keep calm and faith in leadership of the Party and State regarding the East Sea situation.
