Representative Board of the Cao Dai Ante-Creation Church in Tien Giang province reviews religious practice in the first quarter of 2014

On Feb 7th and 8th 2014 (the 8th and 9th days of the first lunar month), at Minh Duc oratory (the Representative Board’s Office), 230 Le Thi Hong Gam, Ward No. 6, My Tho city, the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, Prof. Ngọc Hưng Thanh (Nguyễn Tấn Hưng) - Head of the Representative Board of the Cao Dai Ante-Creation Church chaired a conference to summarize the Church’s religious practice in the first quarter of 2014. 

The event was also attended by Principal Archbishop Thái Bé Thanh (Đinh Văn Bé), Deputy Head of the Standing Board of the Cao Dai Ante-Creation Church; Juridical Renovator Huệ Chơn, Chief of the Hiệp Thiên Đài Tribunal; as well as 60 dignitaries and sub-dignitaries from 22 parish managing boards in the province.

In the first quarter of 2014, under the leadership and monitoring of the Representative Board, 22 oratories in Tien Giang province organized religious activities under the programs registered to the local authorities and the Church’s guidance.

Here are some results made during the first quarter of this year:

About religious affairs, 21 people were converted in, 184 children were given holy bath, and a worshipping house was built.

About charitable and humanitarian activities, the Church helped build a house of charity and provided medical check-ups, medicine and gifts to the poor on the occasion of the 2014 Lunar New Year festival with a total value of 650 million VND.

At the meeting, the local authorities’ representative recorded the precious contributions by the Cao Dai Ante-Creation Church to charitable activities, saying that the Church joined efforts by the local authorities in caring the poor. He also informed the delegates of the significance of the 13th National Assembly’s adoption of the new Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at its sixth session.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of the Church, Principal Archbishop Thái Bé Thanh urged the Representative Board and the 22 parishes to continue promoting the tradition of the Cao Dai Ante-Creation Church in serving the religion and loving the country, practising the religion in line with the law and in the way that closely attached to the country in the national construction and defence./.
