Religious organizations in Tien Giang proactively response to Covid-19 epidemic prevention

In response to requests of local authorities, religious organizations in Tien Giang province have issued in February 2021 dispatches calling religious followers to practically contribute to the Covid-19 epidemic prevention.

These dispatches included formal notes of My Tho diocese issued on February 01, the Binh Duc Caodai Church dated February 03, the Chon Ly Caodai Church dated February 07, and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province dated February 21.

In these official notes, religious organizations called on religious followers to wear masks in public places and cancel pilgrimage, maintain regular masses with limited gatherings of people, and promote online worshipping.

Religious organizations also asked worshipping establishments to strictly implement the “5K” recommendation of health sector for preventing the Covid-19 epidemic and encourage religious followers to use Bluezone application for detecting risks of the Covid-19.

In addition, 26 worshipping establishments of Minh Su Theravada Buddhist Church, Four Debts of Gratitude Buddhist Church, Pure-land Buddhist Association also requested local followers to strictly implement recommendations of the health sector for Covid-19 prevention. Several inauguration or brick-laying ceremonies of Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s worshipping establishments in the province were postponed and traditional masses of the Tien Thien Caodai Church in the province were also canceled, etc.
