In the context of the complicated spread of a severe acute respiratory infection caused by the new strain of Corona virus (nCoV), religious organizations in Quang Binh province have actively coordinated with local authorities to raise the awareness of local people and followers of all religions on preventing measures against the spread of the nCoV.
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee in Quang Binh province asked the Buddhist worshipping places to suspend all festivals and limit scales of large gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus, as well as urged Buddhists and locals to proactively implement advisories by competent authorities.
In particulars, the pagodas of Hoang Phuc, Quan Am and Dai Giac, etc also implemented the prevention measures to support local people and Buddhists including providing free facemasks and asking people to wear masks while going to the pagodas, etc.
Catholic parishes in the province have also enhanced the communication work on the preventive measures against the virus amongst parishioners. During religious services in the churches, priests asked local Catholics to strictly implement advisories by relevant authorities and not to spread inaccurate, unidentified information sources that might affect the community life./.
