Religious organizations in localities continue supporting Covid-19 prevention

A delegation from the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church on July 9 visited and presented 500 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in An Giang for supporting the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality.  

The delegation was led by Vice Chairman of the Hoa Hoa Buddhist Church’s Central Executive Committee Lê Ngọc Lợi.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Trương Hoàng Trọng spoke highly of practical supports from Hoa Hao Buddhists for the Covid-19 prevention work in An Giang. He also urged the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church to guide its members returning from localities of risk to make health declaration and strictly implement guidelines for disease prevention by local authorities.

In the complicated context of Covid-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh city, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’ social charity board in Ho Chi Minh city has donated over 930 million VND to over 12,000 poor workers residing in 47 quarantine areas in eight districts in the city, including fees for people going to in concentrated centers and gift packages.

The social charity board has also mobilized charity groups and sponsors to present 500 kg of sugar, 500 boxes of instant noodle, 500 N95 facemasks, etc, worth 88 million VND, to 500 soldiers of the Military Command in Ho Chi Minh city, and nearly 10 billion VND to doctors, nurses and poor workers in two provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh.

Ho Chi Minh Caritas present vouchers to deaneries

Meanwhile,  Ho Chi Minh city Caritas has presented 1,500 shopping vouchers at Bach Hoa Xanh supermarket, worth 100,000 VND each  and presented by Caritas Vietnam, to 14 deaneries in the Archdiocese.

The Archdiocese Caritas has received two tons of vegetables and fruits from Da Lat Caritas. These vegetables and fruits have been immediately delivered to poor people in District 5, the kitchen of Lang Son parish – Xom Moi deanery, Zero dong market of Lady of Fatima parish – Sai Gon Cho Quan deanery, quarantine areas of Tran Phu and An Lac.

Hai Phong Caritas supports local residents in quarantine area at Vinh Bao district

Hai Phong Caritas donated on July 7 nearly 700 gift sets, worth 170 million VND in total  to poor people in the isolated areas in three communes of Cong Hien, Ly Hoc and Hoa Binh of Hai Phong province’s Vinh Bao district. In particular, each Covid-19 patients has in these areas received three million VND from the Caritas delegation.

Caodai delegation presents gift to Suoi Lam border guard

A delegation of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Central Representative Committee led by Bishop Head of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church's Representative Committee Thái Thọ Thanh paid on July 5 visits to the border guards in the province’s Tan Chau district.

During the visits, the Caodai delegation has presented 1,650 kg of rice, 180 boxes of instant noodle, 100 lit of cooking oil and two million VND in cash, etc valued at over 45 million VND in total to border guards of Suoi Lam and Tong Le Chan.
