Religious course at Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics organizes study tour in Son La

A delegation of trainees majoring in the state administration on religion from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics organized on Jun 15 a study tour in Son La province.
The delegation led by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Lê Tâm Đắc, Deputy Director of the Institute for Religious Studies under the academy had an exchange meeting with Chairman of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Chá A Của and heads of Son La provincial departments and social and political organizations.
During the exchange meeting, the provincial authorities informed the state administration on religion as well as practical issues relating to religious affairs that aim to meet religious followers’ learning need in the province.
Currently, Son La province is home to three religions of Catholicism, Protestantism and Buddhism, with nearly 23,000 followers whom are mainly ethnic minorities living in 12 districts and city of the province. Most of ethnic groups in the province currently practice traditional worshipping.
Purpose of the study tour is to learn about the religious life and the state governance on religions in the province, and during the tour, the delegation also visited several religious worshipping places in the province and presented gifts to households entitled to social policies in Song Ma district’s Nà Nghiu commune.
