In response to the call of local authorities in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, religious organizations in Tien Giang province have issued dispatches calling their followers to join hands in fight against COVID-19.
My Tho diocese, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in the province the provincial Representative Committee for Tay Ninh Caodai Church have issued separate dispatches respectively all parishes of the dioceses, 11 district-level VBS’s sub-committees of the provincial VBS chapter and 29 Caodai parishes in the locality.
According to the dispatches, local religious organizations called on its leaders and members to suspend festivals, inauguration ceremonies, tenet classes, and conduct prayers their home and proactively implement the prevention measures advised by competent agencies. The schools for religious dignitaries and religious charity houses temporarily shall be closed.
Other religious organizations and sects like those of Minh Su faith, Tu An Hieu nghia (Four Debts of Gratitude) and the Buddhist Pure-Land Association also urged their members to strictly implement advisories by the Ministry of Health and asked followers who recently returned home from aboard to provide accurate and honest information on their health situation.
