Religions in Dong Nai actively engage in social movements

Dong Nai province currently has 10 active religions with Buddhism and Catholicism as the two largest faith groups in the province. Dong Nai is also the province having the largest number of Catholics in Vietnam.

Responding to the program launched by state authorities for new rural and urban development, religious followers in Dong Nai have contributed over VND  49 billion and 18,000 working days for building and upgrading 212 km of local roads, installing 2,171 street lamps and 840 cameras, etc. 

In 2018, religious believers in the province contributed over VND 20 billion to the fund for the poor, as well as newly built or repaired 290 charity houses and presented support packets to the less fortunate at the total estimated value of over VND 20 billion.

Regarding to education, religious organizations in Dong Nai currently operate 25 kindergarten schools and 99 kindergarten classes, one primary school and one occupational training college.

In addition, dozens of medical clinics run by religious organization in the province are currently providing free health treatment for the disadvantaged in the locality.

According to a local report, religious people in Dong Nai in 2018 provided 1,500 useful pieces of information helping local security force dealing with violations of laws in the locality.
