An Giang province currently has 11 religions with 15 registered organizations and a total of about 1.6 million followers.

Religious organizations in the province have proactively participated in the Covid-19 prevention and control with many practical contributions in the locality.

Since the end of March all religious places have suspended religious gatherings of large participants and strictly taken preventive measures including spraying disinfection, hanging guiding banners on the epidemic, arranging hand-washing areas with soap and disinfectant solution in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic

At Catholic parishes in the province, priests asked all parishioners to join online masses and strictly followed guidance of local authorities; the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee in the province urged its district-level executive boards to cancel Buddhist afffairs, including celebrations of Chol Chnam Thmay festival 2020 at Khmer pagodas.

In addition, local religious organizations also contributed 2.3 billion VND including cash, necessities, facemasks, and hand washes to the Covid-19 fighting work.
