Nguyet Quang pagoda located in Tay Tien commune of Thai Binh’s province Tien Hai district held a ceremony on December 01 for inaugurating its new worshipping hall, ancestral temple and preaching hall.
The ceremony saw the presence of Venerable Abbot of the pagoda Thích Thanh Bản, Buddhist dignitaries of the Vietnam Buddhist sangha’s chapter in the province, representatives from local authorities, and about 1000 Buddhist followers in the locality.
The pagoda, also used as the office of Vietnam Buddhist sangha’s executive board in Tien Hai district, has been built for 400 years and repaired for several times.
The reconstructions of the pagoda’s sanctum, ancestral worshipping shrine, preaching hall, and supporting facilities was started in 2014 and cost 15 billion VND.
