Nuoc Troi Catholic Community under Kim Ngọc Parish in Binh Thuan province’s Ham Thuan Bac district held on Sept. 8 the stone-laying ceremony for the reconstruction of its church.
The event saw the participation of Bishop of Phan Thiet Diocese Joseph Vũ Duy Thống, over 60 priests, clergymen and clergywomen, and about 1000 Catholic followers.
According to the Vietnam Catholic Church, in 1748, a large number of Catholic followers in Vietnam Central migrated to Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province, then first church was erected by temporary materials (bamboo). Recently, Binh Thuan provincial authorities created favorable conditions for the Catholic community to rebuild this church in order to meet religious practices of followers in the locality.
