The festival this year featured traditional rituals and folk games such as incense-offering and worshiping ceremonies, Quan ho singing, boat racing, traditional martial arts performances, etc.

The annual festival marks the great merit of famous General Yết Kiêu.

According to legend, General Yết Kiêu was born in 1242 in Ha Bi village, Yet Kieu commune, Gia Loc district.  He is a famous general who had a special talent for swimming and diving, and made great contributions in helping the Tran dynasty fight Yuan-Mongol invaders.
