On August 10, 2013, the Sacerdotal Council of Cao Dai Church - Tay Ninh held a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Hoi An Cao Đài Oratory in Cam Pho ward, Hoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Trương Văn Bảy, Vice - Chairman of the Hoi An city People’s Committee, and representatives from the city’s departments and agencies as well as dignitaries from the Sacerdotal Council, including Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh and Acting Female Principle Archbishop Hương Đắt, representatives of other religions and Cao Dai believers from across the country.
Time and natural disasters had made the Oratory seriously degraded. In order to meet the aspiration of Cao Đài dignitaries and followers to have a new place of worship, the Quang Nam People’s Committee granted a certificate of land use right to the Council. The Cao Đài Oratory of Hoi An city will be rebuilt on a total area of 2,456 sq.m.
