Attending the working meeting included representatives of Quang Binh provincial People’s Council, Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Home Affairs, Committee for Religious Affairs, Department of Public Security and several religious dignitaries in the province.

During the event, the delegation heard a report on the implementation of policies and laws on belief and religion in the locality. According to the report, for practical implementation of policies and laws on religion, Quang Binh provincial authorities issued a number documents regarding the State administration of religious affairs, including Directive 05/2007/CT-UBND dated 24/8/2007 for strengthening the effectiveness of State management in religion and Decision No. 09/2008/QD-UBND dated 21/8/2008 for decentralizing competent authorities on construction of religious works and facilities in the province. During the meeting, the provincial authorities also put forwards many recommendations regarding the State governance on belief and religion.

After the meeting, on February 25, the delegation and representatives of local authorities visited Tam Toa parish in Dong Hoi city and Quang Binh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for practically checking the implementation of policies and laws on belief and religion in the locality.
