The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Le Binh commune in Can Tho city’s Cai Rang district held on July 22 a ceremony in Long An pagoda for launching the pilot program for gathering religious followers and locals for environmental protection.
The program aims to communicate and raise awareness of environmental protection amongst religious, followers and local people through practical activities, such as cleaning and clearing bushes, collecting and treating garbage, planting trees, preserving green - clean - beautiful landscape environment at worship facilities and in the community, etc.
During the event, the commune VFF Committee presented ten garbage bins to Long An pagoda and local families, and event participants cleaned allies and roads in the locality.
