Presenting charitable houses and organizing “zero dong” market for poor people in Ca Mau

A ceremony for presenting charitable houses and launching a “zero dong” market took place on January 8 in Cai Nuoc district’s Dong Hung commune of Ca Mau province, ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2023.

Present at the event included representatives of local authorities and the Tay Ninh Caodai church in the province, and over 500 locals from Dong Hung and neighboring communes.

During the program, five charitable houses, each with four meters wide, eight meters long and about two meters high, and valued at 50 million VND have been handed over to poor families in the locality.

At the “zero dong” market, local authorities presented 500 vouchers, each worth 600,000 VND to poor and near-poor households to collect rice, noodles, soy sauce, monosodium glutamate, sugar, cooking oils, salts, vegetables and other necessities from ten stalls at the market. As reported, Cai Nuoc Caodai parish under the Tay Ninh Caodai church has successful raised funds from sponsors in Ca Mau and other provinces for financing these charitable houses and the “zero dong” market.
