A great surprise has been revealed from the underground of Tham Temple located in the Northern province of Bac Can.
Tham temple is a historical and cultural site located in Bac Kan province’s Cho Moi district. The temple worship a female general named Tham, who made great contributions to the fight against Black Flag invaders in the second half of the nineteenth century.
While renovating the architecture of the temple, construction workers randomly discovered a large volume of prehistoric artifacts.

Many stone, bronze and bone artifacts including ancient pottery pieces with rudimentary decorations, human skulls, teeth and lots of limb bones, jewels, earthenware weaving tools, axes, chisel, etc were detected at a depth of about one meter.

Museum and archaeological experts have conducted a survey and found that this is a very valuable discovery, and initially identified that those artifacts are residency - burial relics of prehistoric people at the New Stone Age - Early Metal Age (3000 - 4000 years ago).
At present, all relics are preserved by local authorities and areas containing artifacts is strictly protected. It is known that archaeologists will carry out one more large excavation in the coming time.
